Her Majesty’s coffin has been lying in state in Westminster Hall since 5pm on Wednesday.
During the lying in state, a continuous vigil is mounted by officers of the Household Division, the King’s Body Guards of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The King’s Bodyguard for Scotland, the Royal Company of Archers and The King’s Bodyguard The Yeomen of the Guard.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to visit to pay their respects to the late monarch but mourners have been warned that they may have to queue for up to 30 hours. The queue route, which could stretch up to ten miles, takes in London Bridge, Southwark and Waterloo before finishing at Westminster.
